Web Scene #2 a success!

Last night (Tue 26th Feb, 2008) saw the second gathering of the Cardiff web community at Cafe Floyd. Co-organised by Ian Wooten (Cardiff University) and Dan Zambonini (Box UK), the evening saw about 40 people mingling, meeting familiar and new faces, and discussing the latest happenings in the web scene.

Two micro-slot presentations were delivered during the evening. The amazing typography/design-guru Mark Boulton informed us of Ten Crimes Against Web Typography, which—as usual with Mark’s talks—left everyone with a heap of new knowledge to digest and remember (Mark, I hope the dashes and hyphens are slightly correct in this news item!).

Dan Zambonini presented 19 interesting things he’d discovered recently; if you attended last night and wanted some references, here are some of the things we discussed (with apologies to Mark for the lack of hanging punctuation...):
