The first Amaxus User Group was a glowing success
Box UK held the first ever Amaxus User Group at De Morgan House in London on 12th February 2008. Over 20 different organisations attended the event, providing a broad spectrum of users of all different abilities. The three guest speakers, Carl Harris (British Computer Society), Cliff Farrand (Promethean) and Ken Punter & Amber Ross (World Vision), all gave fascinating and insightful presentations about how they are uniquely using Amaxus to push their sites towards even greater success. It was a great chance for Amaxus users to meet and talk to other users about how they implement Amaxus, and the possibilities available for their own site.
"This was an excellent event, I will attend future events and bring along other staff." Cliff Farrand (Promethean)
From the feedback we received, we feel the day was a huge success. Everyone appeared to learn something from speaking to the diverse range of other Amaxus users. The main aim of the day was to provide the building blocks for the Amaxus community, which has now begun to be established. All the delegates expressed a keen interest in an online Amaxus community, future Amaxus events, and excitement surrounding the development of Amaxus 4.
"Everything was very informal, so it was very easy to start talking. Extremely interesting to find out what you can do with Amaxus." Christine Benn (Creative & Cultural Skills)
We are currently taking in all the attendees thoughts, suggestions and recommendations on how to improve for the next event. Drawing on this feedback we have already begun planning the next User Group Day, as well beginning to develop the Amaxus User Forum. Look out for Amaxus User Group news in the coming weeks!
"I thought it was a really excellent event. It's clear Box UK have a real passion for what they do and it must be great to work in an organisation that thinks and works in that way" Carl Harris (British Computer Society)
