New Visit Wales Microsite Promotes Golf 'As It Should Be'

Visit Wales Golf MicrositeOn the heels of the launch of their redesigned website and right in time for the height of the tourism season, Visit Wales has launched a new website that explores the world-class range of golfing opportunities in Wales.

The new golf site, powered by Box UK’s leading Web Content Management System Amaxus, offers golf enthusiasts a range of information on courses, itineraries, tour operators, accommodation and events – everything they could possibly need to plan the perfect recreational holiday. According to the site, “Wales has golf courses where you can play beneath the shadow of a castle, parkland courses in mountain settings and inspirational links” – a claim that is backed up by the beautiful photography of the Welsh landscape, which populates the site.

A key upcoming event that is driving the golf craze in Wales is the upcoming international championship, the Ryder Cup. From September 28th to October 3rd 2010, this prestigious championship will be hosted at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, South Wales.

The Twenty Ten Course measures a robust 7,493 yards off the back tees and has a par of 71. It will challenge the world’s best golfers with extensive water features and has six signature holes.

The Visit Wales Golf site lists a number of “Summer of Golf” events that will be held as part of the lead up to the Ryder Cup.

If golf isn’t what you are after, the main Visit Wales website showcases a host of great vacation opportunities from urban adventures to explorations of Wales’ beautiful countryside. “Wales is only half the size of Holland, yet it’s packed with mountain ranges, lush valleys, rugged coastline, little market towns and some really cosmopolitan cities,” boasts the website.

“Box UK is pleased to continue its relationship with Visit Wales through the technical implementation of the new Golf website, which is driven by our leading Web Content Management System, Amaxus,” said Benno Wasserstein, Box UK’s Managing Director. “Both the main Visit Wales site and the new golf website are a testament to the beauty and opportunity in Wales.”
