Technology Overview
Whether you intend to integrate your CMS with diverse internal systems, manage a highly-scalable website in the cloud, or rapidly develop cutting-edge services for your customers, Amaxus has been designed with your needs in mind.
Running Amaxus
Set Your Authors Free. The Amaxus CMS interface runs on Mac or PC, with most popular web browsers. Not a single plug-in or browser install is required, meaning your users can update your website wherever, whenever.
The Open Source Advantage. Get all the development and confidence benefits of Open Source Technology with the usability benefits of a commercial offering. Amaxus utilises the same PHP 5 technologies as the BBC, Yahoo! and Facebook to ensure a rock-solid framework, with support for either MySQL or SQL Server databases and Apache or IIS web servers.
Prepared to Perform. The incredible performance of PHP, together with multiple levels of caching – including blazingly fast opcode caching and memcache – ensures content is delivered quickly and your website responds effectively. Using client-side techniques such as minimisation, content compression and cache priming, your visitors will get access to your content as quickly as possible.
Developing Amaxus
Rapid Development Environment. A CMS framework designed specifically for rapid, high-quality development. Amaxus includes a suite of assistive tools and supports risk-free development in sandboxed virtualised environments.
Designed for Development. The highly-modular architecture has been specifically designed to allow the easy modification and addition of modules, including Applications and Widgets within the CMS, and Templates, Blocks and Content Types on the front-end.
Do It Your Way. With a choice of API options, develop sophisticated new features with REST calls or go straight into the PHP 5 Object Interfaces. Get creative on the front-end with either XSL or PHP templates.
Standards
Compliant Output. Whichever standards you want to support, Amaxus can deliver: XHTML, HTML5, XHTML Mobile, PDF, CSS2, CSS3, JavaScript, ECMAScript, and much more.
Non-Functional Standards. Amaxus also supports any number of non-funtional standards, such as W3C WAI Accessibility standards, e-Government standards and industry-specific metadata standards (such as publishing or cultural).
Non-Official Standards. Although they may not be official, your users and developers also expect your CMS to fully support RSS, ATOM, AJAX, mash-ups, permanent readable URLs and other modern standards. Of course, Amaxus does.
